I loved to draw as a child and art was my favorite subject in school. However, in 1960 being an artist was not the best choice as a future vocation according to my parents. Not until my daughter went off to college did I devote time to watercolor. I am a self taught artist, beginning in 1997 with classes at Miami Dade Community College with Jean Pateky where I learned the basics of watercolor. I continued lessons with Ricardo Alberle at Fairchild Gardens in Miami, Florida. I was a member of the Miami Watercolor Society.

Retiring in 2003 and relocating to Melbourne, two years ago has allowed me to devote full time to watercolor and the Brevard art community. I have taken lessons with local artists; Therese Ferguson, Anita Shaw, Linda Neal and currently Carole Wilen. I participate in the Brevard Watercolor Society workshops.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK - Watercolor.
My current art is varied in nature. However, it’s not a secret that I love to paint nature, landscapes, and gardens. The color Green is a must on my palette. I am experimenting with pen and ink as well. Eventually, I would like to be known for excellent work on whatever I pain. The fun starts with the paints and brushes, but the excitement is when the moment is captured and recorded for history and hung for all to enjoy. I love watercolor and all the aspects of what it has to offer. My completed watercolors become proof of my existence.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT
After being part of the corporate world for 42 years, I can truthfully say, it is great to retire and do what you really enjoy. For me it is watercolor and what the Brevard arts community has to offer. I could paint for another 42 years!
