Helen Jones graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor's degree in Art. After several years of graduate work and teaching in the field of art, she now primarily works as a Studio Artist and a Plein Air Artist. She has studied with other artists: William Schultz, Matt Smith, George Strickland, Frits van Eeden, Arnold Desmarais, and Ken Auster.
She has traveled extensively, constantly discovering new subject matter for her oil paintings. Her subjects vary from landscapes to portraits. Jones' paintings blend the schools of impressionism and realism. Her use of color and composition lend themselves to a beauty which reflects intensity of purpose and observation as well as a gentle inspirational strength. Her artistic eye is fueled by her love of life and its beauty and its Creator. She believes the creative gift comes from God. When art brings beauty, truth and integrity to any subject, it is part of God's creation and brings honor to His Name. That is her purpose. Her works, held in high esteem, are in private and corporate collections.
